29 Then straightway they departed from him, which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.

૨૯ તાારે જે તેહેની તજવીજ કરવાને તઇઆર હુતા તેઓ તુરત તેહેની પાશેથી ગઆ ને તે રોની છે એ ત્રંણીને શરદાર પણ બીધો કેમકે પોતે તેહેને બાંધો હતો

30 On the morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them.

૩૦ ને ઇહુદીઓએ શા માટે તે પર દેશ નુંકે હુતા હૈનું નીશચે પણું તેણે ત્રંણુવા ચાહીને બીજે દાડે બંધનાથી તેણેને છોડા ને સુખી ઈઆાંકોને તથા તેની આખી નાએશભાને હાજર થવાના હુક ન આએંપા પછી પાઊલન લાવીને તેઆની આગલ ઊભા રાખો

CHAP XXIII. તેવીશનો અધો

1 And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.

૧ તાહાર પાઊલે નાએશભા પર ધારીને કહું કે નોંશે હું આ ટાહાડા ક્ષુધી પુરા શત ભાવથી દેવની આગલ

ભાઈઓ હું ભાઈ

ચાલો

2 And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to smite him on the mouth.

૨ તે પર આનાના સુખી ઈઆજકે પોતાની પાશે ઊભા રહે નારાઓને તેણેના નડ્ડા પર મારવાના હુકમ કીધો

3 Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the

law, and commandest me to be smittem contrary to the law.

૩ પણ પાઊલે તેને કહું કે એ ધાલેલી ભાત દેવ તને માર વાને તઈઆર છે શું તેં શાશતર પરમાણે નાહારા ઈનશાદ્ કરવા બેઠેલો છતાં શાશતરને ઊલટા મને મારવાના હુકમ કરેછે

4 And they that stood by said, Revilest thou God's high priest?

૪ તાહાર પાશે ઊભા રહેનારાઓએ કહું કે દેવના સુખી ઇઆ જકની નીંદા હું કેન કરેછે

5 Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.

૫ પછી પાઊલે કહું કે આ ભાઈએ એ સુખી ઈઆજક છું એમ ને ાણું નહ્યું કેમકે એંભ લખુંછે કે તું પોતાના લોકોના અધીકારીને ભુંડું ન કહે

6 But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.

૬ પણ પાઊલે નંછું કે એક ભાગ શાદુકીને ને બીને ફાડી શીઆના છે તાહારે નાએશભામાં તેણે ખુન પાડી કે એ નાઁણુશા ભાઈ હું પ્ાીશી પ્રાચીશીનો દીકરો છું ને નાએલાઓના પાછા ઊઠવાની ઊર્નેટ શબંધી નાારા ઇનશાફ ઠરાવાએછે

7 And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided.

૭ ને તેણે એંમ કહા પર પ્રાજ્ઞીશીઓને તથા શાદુકીને નાહ મા નઘડા થઓ ને તે લોકેાનાં પુટ પડી

8 For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.

૮ કેંનકે શાદુકી કહેછે કે પાછું ઊઠવું નહીં ને દુત નીને આ તમા નહું પણ પ્ાીશીઓ તે બધાં કબુલ કરેછે

· 9 And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that enre of the Pharisees part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God.

૮ તાહાર નાહોટી ખુન પડી ને ફાવીશીની ગમના શાશતી એએ ઊઠીને ભાંડતાં કહું કે એ નાંણુશનો અપરાધ હુને કંઇ દેખતા નથી પણ તે આતનાએ અથવા તે તેહેને કહું હોએ તેા હુને દેવ ની શાથે નઘડા ન કરીએ **

10 And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle.

૧૦ ને ઘણા હુંગાનો થઓ તાહારે શરદાર બીધો ૨ખે તેથી પાઊલના કકડા કકડા કરાએ માટે તેણે શીપાઈઓને જઇને બ્લેરથી તેહુને તેમાંથી કાણાડવાનો તથા કીલાનાં લાવવાનો હુકમ કીધો

11 And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testifyed of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.

૧૧ ને આવતી રાતો પરભુએ તેહેની પાશે ઊભા રહીને કહું કે આ પાઊલ ધીરજ રાખ કેમકે જૈન હું શસઁધી તે ઈશાલેમનાં શાહુદી આપીછે તેમ રોમમાં પણ તાહારે શાહેદી આપવી નેઇએ

12 And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying

that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.

૧૨ ને દાહડા ઊગા પર કેટલાએક ઇહુદીઓએ એક કરીને હેવા શરાપથી પેાતાને બાંધીને કહું કે પાઊલને નારીનાંખીએ તાંહાં સુધી આપણે નહીં ખાઇશે ને નહીં પીશે

13 And they were more than forty which had made this conspiricy.

૧૩ ને જેઓએ એંન શાથે શન ખાધા હુતા તેઓ ચાલીશથી બહુતા હતા

14 And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.

૧૪ તારે તેઓએ સુખી ઇઆજકોની તથા વડીલેાની પાશે આ વીને કહું કે હને પોતાને હેવા સ્નેહેટા શરાપથી ખાંનાછે કે પાઊલ ને ભાવીનાંખીએ તાંહાં સુધી હુને કંઇ ની ચાખીશે

15 Now therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to morrow, as though ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.

૧૫ એમાટે હવે તને નાગેશભા સુધાં શરદારને બતાવા કે તે તેને કાલે તમારી પાશે કાણાડી લાવે જૈન તે શબંધી તને અધીક પરું ભંણુવાનું ચાહાતા હાશા તેમ—ને હુને તેણેના પાશે આએ વા અગાઊ તેહેને નારીનાંખવાંને તઈઆર છુઈએ

16 And when Paul's sister's son heard of their lying in wait, he went, and entered into the castle, and told Paul.

૧૬ ને પાઊલના ભાણને તેઓનું શતાઈ રહેવું શાંભલીને ગઓ ને તેણે છીલામાં પેશીને પાઊલને કહીદીધું

17 Then Paul called one of the centurions unto him, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain : for he hath a certain thing to tell him.

૧૭ તાારે પાઊલે જનાદારોનાઁથી એકને પાશે તેડીને કહું કે એ જીનને શરવારની પાશે લઇબ્ન કેમકે એ તેણેને કંઈ કહેવાનો છું

18 So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee.

૧૮ એશારૂ તેણે તેહને શાથે લીધા ને શરદારની પાશેલાવીને કહું કે પાઊલ કેદીએ અને પાશે તેડીને આ જુર્માંનને તાહારી પાશે લાવવાની વીનંતી કીધી એ તને કંઇ કહેવાનો છે

19 Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him What is that thou hast to tell me?

૧૯ તાહારે શરદારે તેંહુનો હાથ પકડીને તથા એકાઁતનાં લઈ જઇને પુછું કે તાહારે મને શું કહેવાનું છે

20 And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.

૨૦ ને તેણે કહું કે ઇહુદીઓએ તાહારી પાશે નાગવાને હુંવો એ કો કીધો કે કાલે તું પાઊલને નાએશભાનાં કાણાડી લાવે જૈન તે શબંધી તેઓ વહતું પૐ નંણવાનું ચાહાતા હશ

21 But do not thou yield unto them : for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.

૨૧ પશુ હું તેઓને ભરાશા ન કર કનકે તેમાંનાં ચાલીશથી
