HERE were fome holy Perfons, particularly the Defcendants of Shem, who profeffed the true Religion, and acted in all Refpects with a ftrict Conformity to the Law of Nature. Abraham was one of the most righteous, and God Almighty condefcended to enter into a fpecial Covenant with him. Abraham believed in, and relied on the Promises of GoD, who commanded him to be circumcifed, as a Seal, or Token of his Covenant with him: And GOD faid unto him, Sarah thy Wife shall bear thee a Son, and thou shalt call his Name Ifaac.
