PREFACE.

The IIYACINTH, on its seventh annual return, is now submitted to the youth of this country. It has been the Publisher's aim to present his readers, in every page, with that which is not only amusing, but which will have a tendency to improve the mind. Wishing his young readers a merry Christmas and a happy New Year, he bids them an affectionate adieu.
