206. Ministers are to feed the Church,
My son, be strong
In the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
And the things that thou hast heard of

me

Among many witnesses,
The same commit thou to faithful men,
Who shall be able to teach others also.

207. The Church of the Living God. (C. M.) I LOVE the Church, for her's I am,

And her I will uphold ;
Church of my fathers!—she shall be

My comfort when I'm old.
Church of the poor !—to all a friend,

The glory of our land;
Her holy houses, free for all,

In every village stand.
Church of the Bible !-wbere God's Word

Is evermore proclaimed ;
Her worship pure, and holy prayers

Upon that Word are framed.
Church of the Lord !-his flock, his fold,

And never-failing care; His ministers, his sacraments,

His name and grace are there.

208. Let there be no Divisions among you. Now I beseech

you,

brethren, Mark them which cause divisions and of

fences Contrary to the doctrine which ye have

learned, And avoid them. For they that are such serve not the Lord

Jesus.
Obey them that have the rule over you,
And submit yourselves ;
For they watch for your souls
As they that must give account.

209. Beautiful for Situation. (C.M.) Our hearts are clustered round the Church,

We were baptized there ; Each sacred day, each heavenward thought,

Is hallowed with her prayer. Her spires and towers still point to heaven,

Wherever we may be ;
How beautiful on every hand

A House for God to see !
Through all our land her voice is one,–

The same blest truths are read;
In her ten thousand parishes
The selfsame prayers are said.

Home of God's people !—there they meet

Upon his holy day :
And there their mouldering bodies rest,

When life has passed away.

210. The Church is the Pillar of the Truth. IF thy brother shall trespass against thee, Go and tell him his fault between thee and

him alone. If he will not hear thee, Then take with thee one or two more : And if he shall neglect to hear them, Tell it unto the Church : But if he neglect to hear the Church, Let him be unto thee as a heathen man and

211. Church and Queen. (c. M.) OUR God is good; why should we then

So much neglect his praise ?
His help doth pass all help of men,

Whose power, whose love decays.
He sends his Word,—the Church's light,

His Gospel feeds his flock ;
His people take their cheerful flight

To Him, their living Rock !
On Him they stay, on Him they stand,

He freely grants his aid;

He scatters with his truth each band

That hath his Church dismayed. Breathe out thy Word, O God, our Guide!

Let it be published so That it may evermore abide,

And make thy Church still grow.
Let truth prevail, let faith abound,

Let all amend their ways :
Our Queen preserve, her foes confound,

Send peace in all her days.

THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM,

BAPTISM doth represent unto us our profession, which is to follow the example of our Saviour Christ, and to be made like unto Him; that as He died and rose again for us, so should we who are baptized, die from sin and rise again unto righteousness; continually mortifying all our evil and corrupt affections, and daily proceeding in all virtue and godliness of living.

212. Received into Christ's Flock. (7’s.)

PRAISE the Lord of heaven and earth,
Giver of the second birth;
He into his Ark receives
Whoso upon Him believes.

Alleluia!

Praise the Lord who for us died,
Shedding from his precious side
Streams which wash the guilt of sin,
Fountains which can cleanse within.

Alleluia !
Praise Him for his blest command
To baptize in every land;
And baptizing all, to teach
Truths which every heart may reach.

Alleluia!
Worship Him with thankful mind,
Keep that vow which doth you bind;
Henceforth, unto evil dead,
Live anew with Christ your Head.

213. The Lord's Command to Baptize. Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and

in earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, bap

tizing them In the name of the Father, and of the Son,

and of the Holy Ghost : Teaching them to observe all things Whatsoever I have commanded you: And, lo, I am with you alway, Even unto the end of the world. Amen.
