TAITHFUL SERVANT AND MINISTER OF CHRIST,
WITH CORRECTIONS AND ADDITIONS.
New York Printed:
FOR WILLIAM PRILLIPS, GEORGE YARD, LOMBARD STREET,
AND W. ALEXANDER, YORK.
TO THE PRESENT EDITION.
IN publishing this edition, it may be observed, that numerous corrections are made in the punctuation, and such alterations as were needful to avoid rery long sentences ; but nothing is done that affects the sense, further than it is hoped renders it more perspicuous. The English and American editions have been compared; the slight improvements of the former adopted, and what was therein omilied of the latter, is now inserted.
The additions are derived from authentic sources; and one of the most considerable from a manuscript in the author's own hand writing; as noted in the place where it is inserted.
The additional account of his last illness is given by one of his attendants, through the whole of thut painful and yet joyous scene; wherein the power of Divine Grace, often and eminently triumphed over the pains and anguish of a deeply afflicted tabernacle.
