THE Board of Directors, agreeably to arrangements made by the Consulting Committee, met in the Lecture-Room of the Second Congregational Church, Norwich, Conn., November 14th, 1865, at 3 o'clock, P. M. The President, Henry White, Esq., took the chair, and the meeting was opened with prayer. Present during the meeting, William Ropes, Esq., Hon. T. W. Williams, Rev. Drs. A. Peters, W. Patton, R. Palmer, S. T. Seelye, E. N. Kirk, J. Eldridge, J. P. Cleaveland, and J. Spaulding; Rev. Messrs. A. H. Clapp and J. Crowell, and J. P. Gulliver-together with Rev. Theron Baldwin, D. D., Corresponding Secretary. Letters were read from Rev. Drs. Thos. P. Field, J. F. Stearns, J. H. Linsley, E. Davis, R. R. Booth, J. P. Wilson, J. Few Smith, T. Brainerd, and Wm. Adams, expressing their continued interest in the Society and their regret at not being able to attend the meeting-the two last named tendering their resignations on account of the pressure of pastoral and other duties.
