CHAP. XV. Of the Resurrection of Jesus. Matt. xxviii. On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, "came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and caine and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His counte ance was like lightning, and his raiment was white as snow; and for fear of him, the keepers did shake, and became as He is dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye; for I know that ye seek Jesus which was crucified. not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that He is risen from the dead; and behold, He goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see Him, lo, I have told you.' AFTER that, "Jesus was seen of Cephas, then of the Twelve; after that He was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; after that He was seen of James, then of all the apostles, when they went into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. And when they saw Him, they worshipped Him And Jesus came, and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto Me in heaven and in earth. As My Father hath sent Me, even so send I you. And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost. Go ye, therefore, and teach all na tions, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world And He led them out as far as to Bethany; and He lifted up His hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass, while He blessed them, He was parted from them, and carried up into heaven, and a cloud received Him out of their sight; and whilst they looked stedfastly toward heaven as He went up, two angels said unto them, This same Jesus shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into Heaven. And they worshipped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy; and were conti nually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen." 1. CHRIST healeth the Centurion's servant.
