IN the year 1790, to you, I dedicated the translation of an Essay on Providence, and to you, I dedicate the present improved edition of that Essay. At the period just mentioned, seventeen years, I had been your minister; and now, remember, for thirty years, have I, statedly, been thus employed: so long have you had patience with me; so long, you say, the church has been thankful for my ministrations.
