The following addresses were delivered under the auspices of the Louisville Bar Association, at the Centenary of John Marshall's elevation to the Chief-Justiceship. The exercises were held on February 4, 1901, in the court room of the Common Pleas Division of the Jefferson Circuit Court, Louisville, Ky., and consisted of an historical address by the President of the Association, and reviews by four members of the Bar, of opinions delivered by the Chief Justice in Marbury v. Madison, McCulloch v. State of Maryland, The Trial of Aaron Burr, and Sturgis v. Crowninshield. |
