DA-VID

A-VID was thir-ty years old when he be-gan to reign in He-bron. His first act was one of kind-ness to the me-mo-ry of Saul. He heard that the men of Ja-besh-gi-lead, who liv-ed on the o-ther side of Jor-dan, had ta-ken the bo-dies of Saul and Jo-nathan from the Phi-lis-tines, and had bu-ri-ed them un-der a tree at Ja-besh. Da-vid sent a kind mes-sage to them, and at the same time told them that the tribe of Ju-dah had made him king. But the men of Ja-besh-gi-lead still clave to the fa-mi-ly of Saul. Saul
