THE following Lectures were delivered under the directions of the Will of one Thomas Hall, and are now published in furtherance of the object of the testator.

It is only necessary to add, in case they should appear too short or concise, that, having been delivered extempore, the substance and leading thoughts only have been preserved.

The Lord's Supper-its solemn Institution.

ST. MATTHEW XXVI. 26, 27, 28.

Great interest derived from the time,-circumstances,-
and history of these words,-and chiefly from their or-
daining a Sacrament.-The perpetual obligation of the
Lord's Supper proved from the practice of the Apostles,-
its reference to the second Advent,—and the nature of the
ordinance. Apparent discrepancy between the gospels
explained. Exposition of each expression in the text.-
Goodness of God seen in this institution.-Contrast be-
