The matter presented in this book is the result of laboratory experimentation in the Evening Elementary Schools for the education of adults in Cleveland.

The material herein produced is
naturally a rather condensed residue
of a large volume of material which
has gone through trial and error. The
language tests were made by the
supervisory staff, and all classification
is based upon these tests.

This book is used throughout the
Cleveland Elementary Evening
Schools.
