PREFACE.

THE Committee of Publication of the American Sunday School Union, in adopting this publication, are aware that different, as well as more extensive explanations and inferences may be made with regard to some of the parables, illustrated in the following volume. The work is, however, prepared with much attention to simplicity, and, no doubt, will be a profitable explanation of those beautiful parables by which all are delighted, and by the careful examination of which, none will fail to be improved.
