The bookplate was designed by Mr. Leo Mielziner in 1907. It represents a book on which stands a seven-branched candlestick, throwing its light on an open Scroll of the Law; on each side, a shoot of a palm-tree; in the top left-hand corner, the Shield of David; in the right-hand corner, the Stars and Stripes.-ADOLPH S.
