6. Here in thy house let incense rise, And circling sabbaths bless our eyes, Till to those lofty heights we soar, Where days and years revolve no more.

Retirement. HYMN 77. C. M. [Tate.
T.
THROUGH all the changing scenes of life,

In trouble and in joy,
The praises of my God shall still

My heart and tongue employ. 2. Of his deliv’rance I vill boast,

Till all who are distress’d, From my example comfort take,

And charm their griefs to rest. 3. The hosts of God encamp around

The dwellings of the just; Protection he affords to all

Who make his name their trust. 4. O make but trial of his love

Experience will decide
How blest are they, and only they,

Who in his truth confide.
5. Fear him, ye saints, and you will then

Have nothing else to fear;
Make you his service your delight-

Your wants shall be his care.
16. While hungry lions lack their prey,

The Lord will food provide

For such as put their trust in him,

And see their need supply'd.]

Quito.] HYMN 78. L. M. (Steele. THOU only Sov’reign

of my heart, My Refuge, my almighty Friend

-
And can my soul from thee depart,
On whom alone my hopes depend ?

2. Whither, ah! whither shall I go,
A wretched wand'rer from my Lord ?
Can this dark world of sin and wo
One glimpse of happiness afford ?

3. Eternal life thy words impart;
On these my fainting spirit lives;
Here sweeter comforts cheer my heart
Than all the round of nature gives.

4. Let earth's alluring joys combine ;
While thou art near, in vain they call :
One smile, one blissful smile of thine,
My dearest Lord, outweighs them all.

5. Thy name my inmost pow'rs adore,
Thou art my life, my joy, my care :
Depart from thee'tis death'tis more
"Tis endless ruin--deep despair !

6. Low at thy feet my soul would lie;
Here safety dwells, and peace divine;
Still let me live beneath thine eye,
For life, eternal life, is thine.

Park Street.] HYMN 79. L. M. [Steele.
HP
TE lives, the great Redeemer lives,

(What joy the blest assurance gives !) And now, before his Father, God, Pleads the full merit of his blood.

2. Repeated crimes awake our fears,
And justice, arm’d with frowns, appears;
But in the Saviour's lovely face,
Sweet mercy smiles, and all is peace.

3. Hence, then, ye black, despairing tho'ts;
Above our fears, above our faults
His powerful intercessions rise,
And guilt recedes, and terror dies.

4. In ev'ry dark, distressful hour, When sin and satan join their pow'r, Let this dear hope repel the dart, That Jesus bears us on his heart.

5. Great Advocate, almighty Friend! On him our humble hopes depend : Our cause can never, never fail, For Jesus pleads, and must prevail. Luton.] HYMN 80. L. M. [Steele.

FOR a sweet inspiring ray,

To animate our feeble strains, From the bright realms of endless day, The blissful realms where Jesus reigns.

2. There, low before his glorious throne, Adoring saints and angels fall,

O

And, with delightful worship, own
His smile their bliss, their heav'n, their all.

3. Immortal glories crown his head;
While tuneful hallelujahs rise,
And love and joy, and triumph spread
Through all th' assemblies of the skies.

4. He smiles, and seraphs tune their songs
To boundless rapture while they gaze:
Ten thousand thousand joyful tongues
Resound his everlasting praise.

5. There all the fav’rites of the Lamb
Shall join at last the heav'nly choir :
O may the joy-inspiring theme
Awake our faith and warm desire !

6. Dear Saviour! let thy Spirit seal
Our int’rest in that blissful place,
Till death remove this mortal veil,
And we behold thy lovely face.
The Sanctus.] ANTHEM 81. [Liturgy,
GLORY be to God on high, [men.

And on earth peace, good will tow'rds We praise thee, we bless thee, we worship thee, We glorify thee, we give thanks to thee, For thy great glory, O Lord God, Heavenly King, God the Father almighty.

AGAIN the day returns of holy rest,
Ah! wretched souls, who still remain,
All hail the power of Jesus' name,
Angels! roll the rock away,
Arm of the Lord, awake, awake,
Behold, I bring you glad tidings,
Blest bé the tie that binds,
Christ, the Lord, is ris'n to-day,
Come, let us ascend,
Come, thou almighty King,
Come, thou Fount of every blessing,
Come, thou long expected Jesus,
Come, weary souls, with sins distrest,
Eternal source of ev'ry joy,
Father, how wide thy glory shines,
Father of mercies, God of love,
Father of mercies! in thy word,
Frequent the day of God returns,
Gently, Lord, O gently lead us,
Glory be to God on high,
Glory to thee, my God, this night,
Grace! 'tis a charming sound,
Guide me, O thou great Jehovah,
Hail to thy brightness, glorious sun,
Hallelujah to the God of Israel
Happy the nian, whose wishes climb,
Hark! the vesper hymn is stealing,
He lives, the great Redeemer lives,
He dies! the Friend of sinners dies,

How beautiful are the feet,
* In sweet exalted strains,

I was glad when they said unto me,
I will arise, and go to my Father,
Jesus, lover of my soul,
Jesus, our God and King,
Jesus, who died a world to save,
Light of those whose dreary dwelling,
Lo! he comes, in clouds descending,
Lord, at thy table l behold,
Lord, dismiss us with aby blessing,
