MONDAY EVENING.-FOURTH WEEK.

PSALM LXXXVI. VERSE 12.

WILL thank thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart; and will praise thy Name for evermore.

For great is thy mercy toward me; and thou hast delivered my soul from the nethermost hell.

O God, the proud are risen against me, and the congregations of naughty men have sought after my soul, and have not set thee before their eyes.

But thou, O Lord God, art full of compassion and mercy; long-suffering, plenteous in goodness and truth.

O turn thee then unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and help the son of thine handmaid.

Shew some token upon me for good, that they who hate me may see it, and be ashamed; because thou, Lord, hast holpen me, and comforted me.

Let us pray.

Lord have mercy upon us.

Christ have mercy upon us.
Lord have mercy upon us.

OUR FATHER which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses; As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and ever and ever. Amen.

the glory, for

O LORD, we beseech Thee favourably to hear the prayers of Thy people; that we who are justly punished for our offences may be mercifully delivered by Thy goodness; for the glory of Thy Name, through Jesus Christ our Saviour, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

ALMIGHTY AND EVERLASTING GOD, mercifully look upon our infirmities; and in all our dangers and necessities stretch forth Thy right hand to help and defend us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ALMIGHTY AND EVERLIVING GOD, Who knowest no weariness and no change, pity us Thy servants who seek rest from the fatigue of another day's duties. Our work we lay at Thy feet, beseeching Thee to bless and prosper all of it that has Thy gracious approval, and to pardon all that is amiss. Help us to retain for our future guidance any useful lesson learned this day, and confirm us in any advance we may have made in goodness, righteousness, and truth. Give us this night refreshing sleep, and keep us in mind, body, and estate, from all evil. Guide and bless our waking thoughts; and may we begin a new day with Thee. Be ever near to us, O Lord, by night and day; our Guide through life, our Hope in death, our Friend for evermore; for our Redeemer's sake. Amen.

THE grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost, be with us all evermore. Amen.

TUESDAY MORNING.-FOURTH WEEK.

PSALM XCIII.

HE Lord is King, and hath put on glorious apparel; the

ΤΗ Lord hath put on his apparel, and girded himself with

strength.

He hath made the round world so sure, that it cannot be moved.

Ever since the world began hath thy seat been prepared ; thou art from everlasting.

The floods are risen, O Lord, the floods have lift up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.

The waves of the sea are mighty, and rage horribly; but yet the Lord, who dwelleth on high, is mightier.

Thy testimonies, O Lord, are very sure; holiness becometh thine house for ever.

Let us pray.

O God, Who declarest Thy almighty power most chiefly in shewing mercy and pity, mercifully grant unto us such a measure of Thy grace that we, running the way of Thy commandments, may obtain Thy gracious promises, and be made partakers of Thy heavenly treasure; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O THOU Judge of quick and dead, at Whose bar we must all shortly appear, assist us to live so as to be in continual readiness for Thy summons. Remembering how many things

we have done amiss, and how many duties left undone, we humble ourselves, and take refuge in the merits and mediation of Thy dear Son and our adorable Redeemer; for Whose sake be merciful to us and forgive us. Having shaken off sleep and begun a new day, make us to shake off all slothfulness from our souls, and stand fully resolved and ready for all that Thou wouldest have us do. And may it please Thee, O Lord, to fill us with Thy Spirit, endue us with Thy strength, and keep us through all these changing scenes to life eternal; for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Mediator and Advocate. Amen.

O GOD, the Creator and Preserver of all mankind, we humbly beseech Thee for all sorts and conditions of men; that Thou wouldest be pleased to make Thy ways known to them, Thy saving health unto all nations. More especially we pray for the good estate of the Catholic Church, that it may be so guided and governed by Thy good Spirit, that all who profess and call themselves Christians may be led into the way of truth, and hold the faith in unity of spirit, in the bond of peace, and in righteousness of life. Finally we commend to Thy Fatherly goodness all those who are any ways afflicted or distressed, in mind, body, or estate that it may please Thee to comfort and relieve them, according to their several neces sities; giving them patience under their sufferings, and a happy issue out of all their afflictions. And this we beg for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

PSALM XCV.

COME, let us sing unto the Lord; let us heartily rejoice in the strength of our salvation.

Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and shew ourselves glad in him with psalms.

For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

In his hand are all the corners of the earth, and the strength of the hills is his also.

The sea is his, and he made it, and his hands prepared the dry land.

O come, let us worship and fall down, and kneel before the Lord our Maker.

For he is the Lord our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

To-day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts; as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness;

When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works.

Forty years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their hearts, for they have not known my ways;

Unto whom I sware in my wrath, that they should not enter into my rest.

Let us pray.

Lord have mercy upon us.

Christ have mercy upon us.

Lord have mercy upon us.
