are penitent, create and make in us new and contrite hearts; that we, worthily lamenting our sins and acknowledging our wretchedness, may obtain of Thee perfect remission and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O BLESSED LORD GOD, Who didst send Thy only Son into the world that He might become an example of godly life, and hast taught us that we ought to walk even as He also walked, may our mind's eye be steadily fixed upon our great Pattern this day. Taught by Him, may we learn to do our appointed work with all diligence, and to bear with all submission our appointed burdens; to be unselfish and true in all our dealings with others; and to know no rule of life, other than our heavenly Father's will. Daily following in His steps, may our way be always blessed of Thee, and lead us at length unto the same place whither He has gone before, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

O GOD, Who art the author of peace and lover of concord, in knowledge of Whom standeth our eternal life, Whose service is perfect freedom; defend us Thy humble servants in all assaults of our enemies, that we, surely trusting in Thy defence, may not fear the power of any adversaries; through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

PREVENT US, O Lord, in all our doings with Thy most gracious favour, and further us with Thy continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in Thee, we may glorify Thy holy Name, and finally by Thy mercy obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

OUR FATHER which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And

forgive us our trespasses; As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

PSALM XXV. VERSE II.

HAT man is he that feareth the Lord, him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the land.

The secret of the Lord is among them that fear him; and he will show them his covenant.

Mine eyes are ever looking unto the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate, and in misery.

The sorrows of my heart are enlarged; O bring thou me out of my troubles.

sin.

Look upon my adversity and misery, and forgive me all my

Consider mine enemies, how many they are; and they bear a tyrannous hate against me.

O keep my soul, and deliver me; let me not be confounded, for I have put my trust in thee.

Let perfectness and righteous dealing wait upon me; for my hope hath been in thee.

Deliver Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

Let us pray.

Lord have mercy upon us.

Christ have mercy upon us.
Lord have mercy upon us.

OUR FATHER which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses; As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

O GOD, Whose nature and property is ever to have mercy and to forgive, receive our humble petitions; and though we be tied and bound with the chain of our sins, yet let the pitifulness of Thy great mercy loose us; for the honour of Jesus Christ, our Mediator and Advocate. Amen.

LET Thy merciful ears, O Lord, be open to the prayers of Thy humble servants; and that they may obtain their petitions make them to ask such things as shall please Thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ALMIGHTY GOD, Who art the Refuge of the distressed, and the hope of all the ends of the earth, hear our earnest prayers in behalf of our suffering fellow-creatures, and especially those of them, if such there be, that are known and dear to ourselves. To those afflicted in body, send health or alleviation as Thou shalt see best for them. To the sorrowing watchers by sick beds be present by Thy Holy Spirit, to give strength and inspire courage. To all who are downcast in mind or circumstances, reveal Thyself as the true and effectual Comforter, sustaining, helping, and cheering, as Almighty Love

only can. When our own time of suffering shall come, may it be accompanied by a full measure of Thy promised consolation. Let there be kind hearts and hands to pity and tend us; sweet recollections of bygone days well spent, to soothe us; and the infinite compassion of our Father in heaven to sustain us; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ALMIGHTY GOD, Who hast promised to hear the petitions of them that ask in Thy Son's Name, we beseech Thee mercifully to incline Thine ears to us that have now made our prayers and supplications unto Thee; and grant that those things which we have faithfully asked according to Thy will, may effectually be obtained to the relief of our necessity, and the setting forth of Thy glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

THE blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, be amongst us, and remain with us always. Amen.

PSALM XXXVI.

Y heart sheweth me the wickedness of the ungodly, that
there is no fear of God before his eyes.

For he flattereth himself in his own sight; until his abominable sin be found out.

The words of his mouth are unrighteous, and full of deceit; he hath left off to behave himself wisely, and to do good.

He imagineth mischief upon his bed, and hath set himself in no good way; neither doth he abhor any thing that is evil. Thy mercy, O Lord, reacheth unto the heavens, and thy faithfulness unto the clouds.

Thy righteousness standeth like the strong mountains; thy judgements are like the great deep.

Thou, Lord, shalt save both man and beast. How excellent is thy mercy, O God; and the children of men shall put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

They shall be satisfied with the plenteousness of thy house; and thou shalt give them drink of thy pleasures, as out of the river.

For with thee is the well of life; and in thy light shall we see light.

O continue forth thy loving-kindness unto them that know thee, and thy righteousness unto them that are true of heart.

O let not the foot of pride come against me; and let not the hand of the ungodly cast me down.

There are they fallen, all that work wickedness; they are cast down, and shall not be able to stand.
