4 Let all the people praise Thee, Lord!
Then earth her fruit shall give:

Thy blessing shall on all be poured,
And all to Thee shall live.

H. F. LYTE.

i BE thou, O God, exalted high;
And as Thy glory fills the sky,
So let it be on earth displayed,

Till Thou art here, as there, obeyed.
2 O God, my heart is fixed; 'tis bent
Its thankful tribute to present;
And, with my heart, my voice I'll raise
To Thee, my God, in songs of praise.
3 Thy praises, Lord, I will resound

To all the listening nations round;
Thy mercy highest heaven transcends;
Thy truth beyond the clouds extends.

4 Be Thou, O God, exalted high;

And as Thy glory fills the sky,
So let it be on earth displayed,
Till Thou art here, as there, obeyed.

I BREAK Thou the bread of life,
Dear Lord, to me,

As Thou didst break the loaves

Beside the sea;
Beyond the sacred page

I seek Thee, Lord;

My spirit pants for Thee,
O living Word!

TATE AND BRADY.

2 Bless Thou the truth, dear Lord,

To me-to me

As Thou didst bless the bread

By Galilee;

Then shall all bondage cease,

All fetters fall;

And I shall find my peace,

My All-in-All!

I COME, let us lift our joyful eyes
Up to the courts above,

And smile to see our Father there,
Upon a throne of love.

2 Come, let us bow before His feet,
And venture near the Lord;
No fiery cherub guards His seat,
Nor double-flaming sword.

3 The peaceful gates of heavenly bliss
Are opened by the Son;

High let us raise our notes of praise,
And reach th' almighty throne.

4 To Thee ten thousand thanks we bring,
Great Advocate on high,
And glory to th' eternal King,
Who lays His anger by.

I. WATTS.

I COME, O my soul! in sacred lays,
Attempt Thy great Creator's praise:
But O, what tongue can speak His fame?
What verse can reach the lofty theme?

2 Enthroned amid the radiant spheres,
He glory like a garment wears;
To form a robe of light divine,

Ten thousand suns around Him shine.

L. M.

3 In all our Maker's grand designs,
Almighty power, with wisdom, shines;
His works, through all this wondrous frame,
Declare the glory of His name.

4 Raised on devotion's lofty wing,
Do thou, my soul, His glories sing;
And let His praise employ thy tongue
Till listening worlds shall join the song.

I COME, Sound His praise abroad,
And hymns of glory sing!
Jehovah is the sovereign God,
The universal King.

2 Come, worship at His throne ;
Come, bow before the Lord;
We are His work, and not our own;
He formed us by His word.

3 To-day attend His voice,

Nor dare provoke His rod;
Come, like the people of His choice,
And own your gracious God.

I COME, Thou Desire of all Thy saints!
Our humble strains attend,

S. M.

I. WATTS.

While with our praises and complaints,
Low at Thy feet we bend.

2 How should our songs, like those above,
With warm devotion rise!

How should our souls, on wings of love,
Mount upward to the skies!

3 Come, Lord! Thy love alone can raise
In us the heavenly flame;

Then shall our lips resound Thy praise,
Our hearts adore Thy name.

4 Dear Saviour, let Thy glory shine,
And fill Thy dwellings here,
Till life, and love, and joy divine
A heaven on earth appear.

I COME to the house of prayer,

O thou afflicted, come;

The God of peace shall meet thee there;
He makes that house His home.

2 Come to the house of praise,
Ye who are happy now;
In sweet accord your voices raise,
In kindred homage bow.

3 Ye aged, hither come,

For ye have felt His love;

Soon shall your trembling tongues be dumb,
Your lips forget to move.

4 Ye young, before His throne,

Come, bow; your voices raise ;
Let not your hearts His praise disown
Who gives the power to praise.

I EARLY, my God, without delay,
I haste to seek Thy face;
My thirsty spirit faints away
Without Thy cheering grace.

E. TAYLOR.

2 I've seen Thy glory and Thy power,
Through all Thy temple shine;
My God, repeat that heavenly hour,
That vision so divine.

3 Not life itself, with all its joys,
Can my best passions move,
Or raise so high my cheerful voice,
As Thy forgiving love.

4 Thus, till my last, expiring day,
I'll bless my God and King;
Thus will I lift my hands to pray,
And tune my lips to sing.

I. WATTS.

I FAR from my thoughts, vain world, be gone;
Let my religious hours alone;
Fain would my eyes my
Saviour see;
I wait a visit, Lord, from Thee.
2 O warm my heart with holy fire,
And kindle there a pure desire :
Come, sacred Spirit, from above,
And fill my soul with heavenly love.

3 Blest Saviour, what delicious fare!
How sweet Thy entertainments are!
Ne'er did the angels taste above
Redeeming grace and dying love.
4 Hail, great Immanuel, all divine!
In Thee thy Father's glories shine;
Thy glorious name shall be adored,
And every tongue confess Thee Lord.

I FROM all who dwell below the skies
Let the Creator's praise arise;
Let the Redeemer's name be sung,
Through every land, by every tongue.
2 Eternal are Thy mercies, Lord;
Eternal truth attends Thy word;

I. WATTS.

L. M.

Thy praise shall sound from shore to shore,
Till suns shall rise and set no more.

I GIVE to our God immortal praise;
Mercy and truth are all His ways;
Wonders of grace to God belong,
Repeat His mercies in your song.
2 Give to the Lord of lords renown;
The King of kings with glory crown;
His mercies ever shall endure,

I. WATTS.

L. M.

When lords and kings are known no more.
3 He sent His Son with power to save
From guilt and darkness and the grave;
Wonders of grace to God belong,

Repeat His mercies in your song.

4 Through this vain world He guides our feet, And leads us to His heavenly seat;

His mercies ever shall endure,

When this vain world shall be no more.

I GOD of mercy, God of grace,

Show the brightness of Thy face;

I. WATTS.
