CHAP. XXIX.

The Sacrifices and Ceremonies of confecrating the Priests. 38 The continual Burnt-offering. 45 GOD's Promise to dwell among the Children of Ifrael.

Ver. 1 AND this is the Thing that thou SHALT do unto them to hallow them, to MINISTER to me in the PRIEST'S OFFICE: Take one young Bullock, and two Rams without Blemish,

2 And unleavened Bread, and Cakes unleavened, tempered with Oyl, and Wafers unleavened anointed with Oyl: of Wheaten Flour fhalt thou make them.

3 And thou shalt put them into one Bafket, and bring them in the Basket, with the Bullock and the two Rams.

4 And Aaron and his Sons thou shalt bring unto the Door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and shalt wash them with Water.

5 And thou shalt take the Garments, and put upon Aaron the Coat, and the Robe of the Ephod, and the Ephod, and the Breaft-plate, and gird him with the curious Girdle of the Ephod.

6 And thou fhalt put the Mitre upon his Head, and put the holy Crown upon the Mitre.

7 Then fhalt thou take the anointing Oyl, and pour it upon his Head, and anoint him.

8 And thou shalt bring his Sons, and put Coats upon them.

9 And thou fhalt gird them with Girdles (Aaron and his Sons) and put the Bonnets on them: and the PRIEST'S OFFICE fhall be theirs for a perpetual Statute: and thou fhalt CONSECRATE AARON and his Sons.

10 h And thou fhalt caufe a Bullock to be brought before the Tabernacle of the Congregation and Aaron and his Sons fhall put their Hands upon the Head of the Bullock.

2 For then would they not have ceafed to be offered because that

it And thou fhalt kill the Bullock before the LORD, by the Door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation.

12 And thou shalt take of the Blood of the Bullock, and put it upon the Horns of the Altar with thy Finger, and pour all the Blood befide the Bottom of the Altar.

15 Thou shalt alfo take one Ram, and Aaron and his Sons fhall their Hands put the upon Head of the Ram.

16 And thou shalt flay the Ram, and thou fhalt take his Blood, and fprinkle it round about upon the Altar.

19 And thou fhalt take the other Ram, and Aaron and his Sons fhall put their Hands upon the Head of the Ram.

the Worshippers once PURGED, fhould have had no more CONSCIENCE of SINS.

3 But in thofe Sacrifices there is a

Remembrance again made of Sins every Year.

BLOOD of BULIS and of GOATS should take away SINS.

4 For it is not POSSIBLE that the

8 Above, when he faid, Sacrifice and Offering, and Burnt offerings, and Offering for Sin. thou wouldeft not, neither hadft Pleasure therein, (which are offered by the LAW;)

9 Then faid he, Lo, I come to do thy WILL, O GOD. He taketh away the fift, that he may establish the

fecond.

10 By the which WILL we are SANCTIFIED; through the Offering of the BODY of JESUS CHRIST ONCE.

20 Then fhalt thou kill the Ram, and take of his Blood, and put it upon the Tip of the Right Ear of Aaron, and upon the Tip of the Right Ear of his Sons, and upon the Thumb of their Right Hand, and upon the Great Toe of their Right Foot, and fprinkle the Blood upon the Altar round about.

21 And thou shalt take of the Blood that is upon the Altar, and of the Anointing Oyl, and fprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his Garments, and upon his Sons, and upon the Garments of his Sons with him: and he fhall be hallowed, and his Garments, and his Sons, and his Sons. Garments with him.

36 And thou fhalt offer every Day a Bullock for a Sinoffering, for Atonement: and thou fhalt cleanse the Altar, when thou haft made an Atonement for it, and thou fhalt anoint it to fanctify it.

38 Now this is that which thou fhalt offer upon the Altar; two Lambs of the firft Year, Day by Day continually.

39 The one Lamb thou fhalt offer in the Morning: and the other Lamb thou fhalt offer at Even.

40 And with the one Lamb a Tenth-deal of Flour mingled with the Fourth part of an Hin of beaten Oyl: and the Fourth part of an Hin of Wine for a Drink-offering.

41 And the other Lamb thou fhalt offer at Even, and fhalt do thereto according to the Meat-offering of the Morning, and according to the Drink-offering thereof, for a fweet Savour, an Offering made by Fire unto the LORD.

42 This fhall be a continual Burnt-offering throughout your Generations, at the Door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation, before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee.

43 And there I will meet with the Children of Ifrael, and the Tabernacle fhall be SANCTIFIED by my GLORY.

44 And I will fanctify the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and the Altar: I will fanctify also both AARON and his Sons, to MINISTER to me in the PRIEST'S OFFICE.

45 And I will DWELL among the Children of Ifrael, and will be their God.

46 And they fhall know that I am the LORD their GOD, that brought them forth out of the Land of Egypt, that I may DWELL amongst them: I am the LORD their GOD.

CHAP. XXXI.

Bezaleel and Aholiab are called for the Work of the Tabernacle. 12 Of the Sabbath. is Mofes receiveth the two

Tables.

* Ezek. xx. 12 I gave them my SABBATHS, to be a Sign between me and them, that they might know that

ND the LORD fpake unto Mofes, faying, 13 * Speak thou unto the Children of Ifrael, faying, Verily my SABBATHS ye fhall keep for it is a Sign between me and you, throughout your Generations; that ye may KNOW that I AM the LORD that doth SANCTIFY you.

I am the LORD that SANCTIFY them.

14 Ye fhall keep the SABBATH therefore: for it is HOLY unto you. Every one that defileth it, fhall furely be put to Death for whofoever doth any Work therein, that Soul fhall be cut off from amongst his People.

15 Six Days may Work be done, but in the feventh is the SABBATH of REST, HOLY to the LORD: whofoever doth any Work in the SABBATH-DAY, he fhall furely be put to Death.

15 Wherefore the Children of Ifrael fhall KEEP the SABBATH, to obferve the Sabbath throughout their Generations, for a perpetual Covenant.

17 It is a Sign between me and the Children of Ifrael for ever for in fix Days the LORD made Heaven and Earth, and on the feventh Day he rested, and was refreshed.

18 And he gave unto Mofes, when he had made an End of communing with him upon Mount Sinai, two Tables of Teftimony, Tables of Stone, written with the Finger of GOD.

CHAP. XXXII.

The People caufe Aaron to make a Calf. 19 Mofes breaketh the Tables. 25 The Idolaters flain.

3 And all the People brake off the golden Ear-rings which were in their Ears, and brought them unto Aaron.

and in their Hearts turned back again into Egypt,

40 Saying unto Aaron, Make us Gods to go before us: for as for this MOSES which brought us out of the Land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

41 And they made a CALF in those Days, and offered Sacrifice unto the IDOL, and rejoyced in the WORKS of their own HANDS.

42 Then GOD turned, and gave ven; as it is written in the Book of them up to worthip the Hoft of Heathe Prophets, O ye Houfe of Ifrael, have ye offered to me flain Beafts,

and Sacrifices, by the Space of forty Years in the Wilderness ?

43 Yea, ye took up the Tabernacle of MOLOCH, and the Star of your God REMPHAN, FIGURES which ye made, to worship them and I will carry you away beyond BABYLON.

4 m And he received them at their Hand, and fashioned it with a graving Tool, after he had made it a MOLTEN CALF and they faid, Thefe be thy GODS, O If rael, which brought thee up out of the Land of Egypt.

5 And when Aaron faw it, he built an Altar before it, and Aaron made Proclamation, and faid, To-morow is a Feaft to the LORD.

6 And they rofe up early on the Morrow, and offered Burnt-offerings, and brought Peace-offerings and the People fat down to eat and to drink, and rofe up to play.

7 And the LORD faid unto Mofes, Go get thee down: for thy People which thou broughteft out of the Land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves.

8 They have turned afide quickly out of the Way which I commanded them they have made them a MOLTEN CALF, and have WORSHIPPED it, and have facrificed thereunto, and faid, thefe be thy GODS, O Ifrael, which have brought thee up out of the Land of Egypt.

9 And the LORD faid unto Mofes, I have seen this People, and behold, it is a ftiff-necked People.

to Now therefore let me alone, that my Wrath may wax
