17 And now, I beseech thee, let the Power of my Lord be great, according as thou haft spoken, saying,

18 The LORD is long-fuffering, and of great Mercy, forgiving Iniquity and Tranfgreflion, and by no means clearing the Guilty, vifiting the Iniquity of the Fathers upon the Children unto the third and fourth Generation.

19 Pardon, I befeech thee, the Iniquity of this People, according unto the Greatnefs of thy Mercy, and as thou haft forgiven this People, from Egypt, even until now. 20 And the LORD faid, I have pardoned, according to thy Word:

21 But as truly as I live, all the Earth fhall be filled with the GLORY of the LORD.

22 Because all thofe Men which have feen my Glory, and my Miracles which I did in Egypt, and in the Wildernefs, and have tempted me now thefe ten Times, and have not hearkned to my Voice;

23 Surely they shall not fce the Land which I fware unto their Fathers, neither fhall any of them that provoked me, fee it:

the Waters cover the Sea.

27 How long fhall I bear with this evil Congregation which murmur against me? I have heard the Murmurings of the Children of Ifrael which they murmur against me.

28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, faith the LORD, as ye have spoken in mine Ears, fo will I do to you :

29 Your Carcafes fhall fall in this Wilderness, and all that were numbred of you, according to your whole Number, from twenty Years old and upwards, which have murmured against me,

30 Doubtless ye fhall not come into the Land concerning which I fware to make you dwell therein, fave Caleb the Son of Jephunneh, and Jofhua the Son of Nun.

31 But your Little ones which ye faid fhould be a Prey, them will I bring in, and they fhall know the Land which ye have defpifed.

32 But as for you, your Carcafes they fhall fall in this Wilderness.

33 And your Children fhall wander in the Wilderness forty Years, and bear your Whoredoms, until your Carcafes be wafted in the Wilderness.

34 After the Number of the Days in which ye fearched the Land, even forty Days (each Day for a Year) fhall ye bear your Iniquities, even forty Years, and ye fhall know my Breach of Promife.

35 I the LORD have faid, I will furely do it unto all this evil Congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this Wilderness they fhall be confumed, and there they fhall die.

36 And the Men which Mofes fent to fearch the Land, who returned, and made all the Congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a Slander upon the Land;

37 Even thofe Men that did bring up the evil Report upon the Land, died by the Plague before the LORD.

38 But Jofhua the Son of Nun, and Caleb the Son of Jephunneh, which were of the Men that went to search the Land, lived ftill.

39 And Mofes told thefe Sayings unto all the Children of Ifrael and the People mourned greatly.

40 And they rofe up early in the Morning, and gat them up into the Top of the Mountain, faying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the Place which the LORD hath promifed for we have finned.

41 And Mofes faid, Wherefore now do you tranfgrefs the Commandment of the LORD, but it fhall not profper? 42 Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not fmitten before your Enemies.

43 For the Amalekites, and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye fhall fall by the Sword: becaufe ye are

turned away from the LORD; therefore the LORD will not be with you.

44 But they prefumed to go up unto the Hill-top: nevertheless, the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD, and Moles departed not out of the Camp.

45 Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites which dwelt in that Hill, and fmote them, and difcomfited them even unto Hormah.

F any Soul fin through Ignorance, then he fhall

offering.

28 And the Prieft fhall make an Atonement for the Soul that finneth ignorantly, when he finneth by Ignorance before the LORD, to make an Atonement for him; and it fhall be forgiven him.

29 You fhall have one Law for him that finneth through Ignorance, both for him that is born amongst the Children of Ifrael, and for the Stranger that fojourneth among them.

30 But the Soul that doth ought PRESUMPTUOUSLY (whether he be born in the Land, or a Stranger) the fame reproacheth the LORD and that Soul fhall be cut off from among his People.

31 Because he hath defpifed the Word of the LORD, and hath broken his Commandment; that Soul fhall utterly be cut off his Iniquity fhall be upon him.

32 And while the Children of Ifrael were in the Wildernefs, they found a Man that gathered Sticks upon the Sabbath-day.

31 It is a FEARFUL Thing to fall into the Hands of the LIVING GOD.

33 And they that found him gathering Sticks, brought him unto Mofes and Aaron, and unto all the Congregation. 34 And they put him in Ward, because it was not declared what fhould be done to him.

35 And the LORD faid unto Mofes, The Man fhall be furely put to Death: all the Congregation fhall ftone him. with Stones without the Camp.

36 And all the Congregation brought him without the Camp, and ftoned him with Stones, and he died; as the LORD commanded Mofes.

3 And they gathered themfelves together against Mofes, and against Aaron, and faid unto them, Ye take too much. upon you, feeing all the Congregation are holy every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift you up yourselves above the Congregation of the LORD.

4 And when Mofes heard it, he fell upon his Face:

And he spake unto Korah, and to all his Company, faying, Even To-morrow, the LORD will fhew who are his, and who is holy; and will caufe him to come near unto him even him whom he hath chofen, will he cause to come near unto him.

6 This do; Take you Cenfers, Korah and all his Company.

7 And put Fire therein, and put Incenfe in them before the LORD To-morrow and it fhall be that the Man whom the LORD doth chufe, he fhall be holy: ye take too much. upon you, ye Sons of Levi.

8 And Mofes faid unto Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye Sons of Levi.

9 Seemeth it but a fmall Thing unto you, that the Gon of Ifrael hath feparated you from the Congregation of Ifrael, to bring you near to himself, to do the Service of the Tabernacle of the LORD, and to ftand before the Congregation, to minister unto them?

10 And he hath brought thee near to him, and all thy Brethren the Sons of Levi with thee and feek ye the Priesthood alfo?

11 For which Caufe both thou and all thy Company are gathered together against the LORD and what is Aaron, that ye murmur against him?

12 And Mofes fent to call Dathan and Abiram the Sons of Eliab which faid, We will not come up.

13 Is it a fmall Thing that thou haft brought us up out of a Land that floweth with Milk and Honey, to kill us in the Wilderness, except thou make thyfelf altogether a Prince over us?

14 Moreover, thou haft not brought us into a Land that floweth with Milk and Honey, or given us Inheritance of Fields and Vineyards: wilt thou put out the Eyes of thefe Men? we will not come up.

15 And Mofes was very wroth, and faid unto the LORD, Refpect not thou their Offering: I have not taken one Afs from them, neither have I hurt one of them.

16 And Mofes faid unto Korah, Be thou and all thy Company before the LORD, thou, and they, and Aaron To-morrow.

17 And take every Man his Cenfer, and put Incense in them, and bring ye before the LORD every Man his Cenfer, two hundred and fifty Cenfers; thou alfo and Aaron cach of you his Cenfer.

18 And they took every Man his Cenfer, and put Fire in them, and laid Incenfe thereon, and ftood in the Door of the Tabernacle of the Congregation with Mofes and Aaron.

19 And Korah gathered all the Congregation against them, unto the Door of the Tabernacle of the Congrega
