14. If ye be REPROACHED for the Name of Christ, happy are ye; for the Spirit of Glory and of God refteth upon you: On their Part he is evil spoken of, but on your Part he is glorified.

2 Cor. iv. 8. We are TROUBLED on every fide, yet not diftreffed; we are perplexed, but not in Despair;

9. PERSECUTED, but not forfaken; CAST DOWN, but not destroyed;

io. Always bearing about in the Body, the DYING of the Lord Jefus, that the LIFE alfo of Jefus might be made manifest in our Body.

Phil. i. 12. But I would ye should understand, Brethren, that the Things which happened unto me, have fallen out rather unto the FURTHERANCE of the Gospel :

1 Pet. i. 15. But as he which hath called you is HOLY, fo be ye HOLY in all manner of CONVERSATION:

18. Forafmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible Things, as Silver and Gold, from your vAIN CONVERSATION received by Tradition from your Fathers, but with the PRECIOUS BLOOD of Christ.

130. The Entrance of thy Words giveth LIGHT: it giveth UNDERSTANDING unto the Simple.

Ifai. 1. 10. Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the Voice of his Servant, that walketh in Darknefs, and hath no LIGHT? let him truft in the NAME of the Lord, and stay upon his God.

Chap. ix. 1. Arife, fhine, for thy LIGHT is come, and the GLORY of the LORD is rifen upon thee.

Rom. xiii. 12. The Night is far fpent, the Day is at hand: let us therefore caft off the Works of Darkness, and let us put on the ARMOUR of LIGHT.

Pf. lxxxix. 2. For I have faid, MERCY fhall be built up for ever thy FAITHFULNESS fhalt thou eftablish in the very Heavens. P. cxxxviii. 2. I will worship towards thy holy Temple, and praife thy Name, for thy LoVING KINDNESS, and for thy Truth: for thou haft MAGNIFIED thy WORD above all thy Name.

Luke xxiv. 25. Then he faid unto them, O Fools, and flow of Heart to believe all that the PROPHETS have fpoken!

26. Ought not Chrift to have fuffered thefe Things, and to enter into his Glory?

27. And beginning at Mofes, and all the PROPHETS, he EXPOUNDED unto them in all the SCRIPTURES, the Things concerning himself.

Rom. xvi. 25. Now to him that is of PowER to ftablish you according to my Gofpel, and the Preaching of Jefus Chrift (according to the Revelation of the Mystery which was kept fecret fince the World began,

26. But now is made manifeft, and by the SCRIPTURES of the PROPHETS, according to the Commandment of the everlasting GoD, made known to all Nations for the Obedience of Faith)

Heb. xii. 25. See that ye REFUSE not him that SPEAKETH: for if they escaped not who refufed him that spake on Earth, much more fhall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from Heaven :

26. Whofe Voice then fhook the Earth: but now he hath promifed, faying, Yet once more I fhake not the Earth only, but alfo Heaven.

27. And this Word, Yet once more, fignifieth the Removing of thofe Things that are SHAKEN, as of Things that are made, that thofe Things which cannot be SHAKEN may remain.

2 Pet. iii. 1. This fecond Epiftle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I ftir up your pure Minds, by way of remembrance:

2. That ye may be mindful of the WORDS which were spoken before by the HOLY PROPHETS, and of the Commandment of us the Apoftles of the Lord and Saviour:

3. Knowing this firft, that there fhall come in the last Days Scoffers, walking after their own Lufts,

4. And faying, Where is the Promife of his Coming'? For fince the Fathers fell asleep, all Things continue as they were from the Beginning of the Creation.

5. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the Word of God the Heavens were of old, and the Earth ftanding out of the Water, and in the Water.

6. Whereby the World that then was, being overflowed with Water, perished.

7. But the Heavens and the Earth which are now, by the fame WORD are kept in ftore, referved unto Fire against the Day of JUDGMENT, and Perdition of UNGODLY Men.

19. Whofoever (m) therefore fhall break one of these leaft COMMANDMENTS, and fhall teach Men fo, he fhall be called the leaft in the Kingdom of HEAVEN: But whofoever shall do, and teach them, the fame fhall be called Great in the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

John xiv. 21. He that hath my COMMANDMENTS, and KEEPETH them, he it is that LOVETH me: and he that loveth me, fhall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifeft my felf to him.

24. He that loveth me not, keepeth not my SAYINGS: and the Word which you hear, is not mine, but the Father's which fent

1 John ii. 3. And hereby we know that we KNOW him, if we KEEP his COMMANDMENTS.

Rev. xxii. 14. Bleffed are they that Do his COMMANDMENTS, that they may have Right to the Tree of Life, and may enter in through the Gates into the City.

20. For (2) I fay unto you, That except your RIGHTEOUSNESS fhall exceed the RIGHTEOUSNESS of the Scribes and Pharifees, ye fhall in no cafe enter into the KING DOM OF HEAVEN.

(n) Isaiah xxix. 13. The Lord faid, This People DRAW NEAR me with their Mouth, and with their Lips do honour me, but have removed their HEART far from me; and their FEAR towards me is taught by the Precept of Men.

Jer. vii. 3. Thus faith the LORD of HOSTS, Amend your WAYS and your DOINGS, and I will cause you to dwell in this Place.

Ezek. xxxiii. 12. Therefore thou Son of Man, fay unto the Children of thy People, The RIGHTEOUSNESS of the RIGHTE ous fhall not deliver him in the Day of his TRANSGRESSION: as for the Wickedness of the Wicked, he fhall not fall thereby in the Day that he TURNETH from his Wickedness; neither fhall the Righteous be able to LIVE for his Righteoufnefs, in the Day that he SINNETH.

31. And they come unto thee as the People cometh, and they fit before thee as my People, and they HEAR thy Words, but they will not do them for with their Mouth they thew much Love, but their HEART goeth after their Covetoufhefs.

Rom. ii. 17. Behold, thou art called a Jew, and refteft in the Law, and makeft thy Boaft of GOD;

18. And knoweft his Will, and approveft the Things that are more excellent, being inftructed out of the Law.

22. Thou that fayft a Man fhould not commit Adultery, doft thou commit Adultery? Thou that abhorrest Idols, doft thou commit Sacrilege?

23. Thou that makeft thy Boaft of the Law, through breaking the Law, difhonoureft thou God?
