6. Aged87, Mrs. Unwin, of Leicester, At Dover, Mr, Charles-Allen Chatfield, of the 1ft Regiment of Royal Surrey Militia, and fon of Robert C. efq, of Croydon. At a quarter before fix o'clock in the evening, of an inflammation in his bowels, aged 41, John-Peter Hankey, efq. banker, and alderman of the ward of Candlewick, in which he fucceeded the late Alderman Perchard, who died Jan. 21, 1806 (LXXVI. -94), and in which he is fucceeded by Samuel Birch, efq. deputy of the ward of -Cornhill. The extreme fatigue which he had fuftained during a canvas of 8 or 10 days for the City of London, produced a -fever, which terminated his life. The firft fymptoms of his complaint appeared about eight on the preceding evening, when he complained of great fatigue and extreme thirft. He preferred red wine and water to tea, which had been recommended to him, and felt himself fo refreshed for the moment that he actually proposed to proceed on his canvas in the neighbourhood.

But this was only a momentary defign, which he foon found himself unable to execute. His diforder now increafed with uncommon rapidity. Early in this afternoon his approaching fate was announced to him; when he called for his four children, the eldeft of whom is about 9 years of age; took an affectionate farewell of them; and died beloved, respected, and lamented by all who knew him. He would moft likely have been one of the fuccefsful candidates, having on the day he died had the greateft fhew of hands, and ftanding third on that day's poll.

9. At Radway, in the county of Warwick, in her 86th year, Mrs. Miller, relist of the late Sanderfon Miller, efq. of that place. She was the only daughter of Edward Trotman, efq. of Shel well in Oxfordshire, and by her mother, daughter and co-heirefs of Thomas Filmer, efq. of Amwell Bury, Herts, was defcended from the Fiennes's, Lords Vifcounts Saye and Sele. She was a woman of exemplary piety, found understanding, and real goodnefs of heart; and thofe peculiar talents which rendered her converfation both pleafing and inftructive, remained unimpaired, even to the latest period of her life.

At Brighthelmftone, Capt. Artes, of the King's (or 10th) Regiment of Dragoons. At Chelsea, the wife of Peter Grant, efq, of Jamaica.

In Berner's-ftreet, Oxford-ftreet, Langford Millington, efq. of the island of Barbadoes. His account of the cultivation and preparation of Aloes in that Ifland, may be found in the London Medical Journal, vol. VIII. He was an eminent merchant, and a man of great benevolence.

15. At his houfe in Pleafant-row, Kingfland, at the advanced age of 94 years, Thomas White, efq. He had many years fince retired from the active fcenes. of trade, in which he had acquired a comfortable fortune, and devoted his leifure to the charities of the Gospel. His mind was religiously occupied in embracing thofe divine precepts which furnish contentment, refignation, and univerfal love, and he exemplified all thofe in his daily life; his door was always open to the poor, and the mildnefs of his difpofition fpread a fuavity over his speech and general demeanour that feemed to unite his heart and his hand in the union of Chriftian love. For his private benefits, the ear that heard his name, bleffed it; and amongst his public fervices, the City of London Lying inn Hofpital has to reflect with respectful acknowlegement and veneration, his zealous attention and regard as Chairman of the Committee for many years paft, and as a kind benefactor by his will.

At Eton, Lewis-James Shaw, fourth fon of Sir John Shaw, bart. Being, with fome other boys, in a boat on the Thames, owing to fame mifmanagement, the boat was upfet, and, in endeavouring to fave himfelf, by ftepping on the bank, he fell into a deep part of the river, and was drowned. In College-ftret, Briftol, in the prime of life, Mr. Francis Cheyne Bowles, one of the furgeons of the Bristol Infirmary..
