A few weeks after the birth of her ninth child, aged 35 Mrs. Totton, wife of the Rev. Wm. Jurin T. rector of Debden, Eflex. 14. This afternoon, on the road leading towards Highgate, a Mifs Wilfon and a Mifs Simplon were overturned in a curricle. There was a fervant in a box behind, and Mifs Wilfon was driving a fpirited horfe at a great rate. On the other fide of Ington, the off-rein, by which the horse was guided, very unfortunately became unbuckled, and the fituation of the ladies became defperate. The animal, in confequence of their fhrieks, it is fuppofed, started off at full fpeed towards Highgate; and the fervant, with the utmoft difficulty, alighted from behind; but he was unable to keep pace with the horse, the carriage was at length, violently overturned, by which Mifs Wilfon, befides having received bruifes which alone were fufficient to deprive her of life, had her arm broken, and her head fractured. This young lady was from the North, and had come to London on a vifit to fome relations, who lived near Moorfields. The other lady, being clofe to the upper fide of the carriage when it overturned, efcaped without ferious injury. At Louth, co. Lincoln, aged 84, Frederick L'Ofte, efq. father of that Corporation, of which he had been 9 times warden. 15. After a long illness, Mrs. Pearfall, wife of Mr. J. P. attorney, of Windtor, Mr. Henry Phillips, of Bristol, brushmaker, known among the lovers of Pfalmody, for nearly half a century, by the familiarly diftin&tive appellation of DOCTOR. As a fpecimen of his unaf fuming attempts at mufical compofition, the tune called "New Sabbath," in score for four voices (which has been heard in almost every place of public worship in the United Kingdom), will.perpetuate hismemory while any tafte for the truly devotional ftyle of praise remains. At her refidence in Charles-freet, Manchefter-fquare, after a long illness, Lady Kirkcudbright, widow of the late Lord, whom the furvived only five years. 16. At Cleveland-houfe, St. James'sfquate, in her 41ft year, Catherine- Mary, Countefs of Darlington; of whom an account fhall appear in our next. At Shrewibury, James Reynish, efq. Being on. a party down the Severn, the day before, the wadding of one of the guns which was discharged from the boat penetrated his fide; of which he languished in extreme pain till the following day. At Leicefter, Mifs Kezla Greatorex. Mr. S. Eamerton, of Wakefield, maltfter. His death was occafioned by a fail from the box of a carriage on the 1ft inft. which, as it was returning from York, owing to the darknets of the night, was overturned upon the Outwood, near Wakefield. Mr. Revis, of Methley, and Mr. Martin Metcalfe, of Silvercoats, alfo lost their lives, by fimilar accidents, during the late unparalleled Yorkshire content. At Aberdeen, in the houfe of his fon, Bishop Skinner, aged 85, and after having held the charge of the Epifcopal Congregation in Langfide near 65 years, the Rev. John Skinner. 17. Aged 85, Nicholas Martyn, efq. of Southampton-row, Bloomsbury.. In Grafton-street, Lady Webster, widow of Sir Godfrey W. bart. At Fowlers, in Kent, Mrs. Frances Bridger, Sifter to Sir John B. and only furviving daughter of the late John B. efq. of Combe-place, Suffex. 20.
