UNITARIAN BOSTON, MASS. SILENT OR, CONSOLATIONS FOR THE SICK. "For all, who, battling through this life, Dear for the sorrows they endure, Who makes his own by all means pure." THIRD EDITION, REVISED AND REWRITTEN. BOSTON: WALKER, WISE & COMPANY. 245 WASHINGTON STREET. 1864. +9.87 HARVARD COLLEGE LIBRARY 18889 C J Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1863, by WALKER, WISE & CO., in the Clerk's Office of the District Court of Massachusetts. CAMBRIDGE: Allen & Farnham, Printers. ADVERTISEMENT TO THE THIRD EDITION. It would be difficult to give any account of a book compiled as this has been. Of the original English work, scarcely more than the title and the introductory essay have been retained, while the changes from the first American edition are most radical. It is sent out again simply because our sick rooms need some such visitor. It does not pretend to supply the want, only to stand in the gap until something better shall offer.
