NOTICE TO SUBSCRIBERS.

MESSRS. CLARK have pleasure in forwarding to their Subscribers

the Second Issue of the FOREIGN THEOLOGICAL LIBRARY for

1890, viz. :

DELITZSCH'S COMMENTARY ON ISAIAH.

[From the Fourth Edition.]

Vol. II. (Completion.)

SCHÜRER'S HISTORY OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE IN THE TIME OF OUR
LORD. Division I. Vol. II. (Completion.)

Both of those works are Copyright in this country, by arrangement with the Authors. DELITZSCH'S "ISAIAH" is translated from the Fourth and greatly amended Edition, and no translation of any previous edition contains Dr. Delitzsch's latest conclusions on this important book.

Forty-five years have now elapsed since the commencement of the Foreign Theological Library, and during that time Four Volumes annually have appeared with the utmost regularity.

It is now, however, difficult to preserve this regularity; and, whilst the Publishers will continue to publish translations of the best German and French works, they will do so as occasion offers, and thus the publications will be even more select.

In completing the Foreign Theological Library as a series, they cannot look back upon those forty-five years without thankfulness. It is seldom that a series has been carried on for so long a time by one firm, and the present senior partner of the firm now hands over to his son the continuation of a business which was established in 1821 by his esteemed uncle, who published the Biblical Cabinet,-the precursor of the Foreign Theological Library,-and who, in association with his nephew, the present writer, commenced the latter series in 1846.

The Publishers trust and believe that the whole series has exercised, through the care with which books have been selected, a healthy influence upon the progress of theological science in this country and the United States.

Messrs. CLARK have pleasure in intimating that, by arrangement with the Author, and the Publishers of the original, they have in preparation an English Translation of PROFESSOR HERMANN SCHULTZ'S Alttestamentliche Theologie (Old Testament Theology).

The Translation will be by the Rev. J. A. Paterson, M.A., Professor of Hebrew and Old Testament Literature, United Presbyterian College, Edinburgh.

EDINBURGH, November 15, 1890.
