THE gratifying reception accorded to the Epitome having exhausted the first edition much sooner than was anticipated, a second and carefully revised edition is now presented to the public. Pains have been taken to correct all errors which have been detected, and the translator avails himself of this opportunity to express his thanks for all suggestions which have been sent him.
