The first printed account of the discoveries of Henry Hudson towards the north of the American continent, with the first map of Hudson's Bay and adjacent territories. It is also the second published account of the discovery of Torres Strait and the northern shores of Australia, by the Spanish navigator Pedro Fernandez de Quiros; and from it was derived the rare English translation which appeared five years later. (The Spanish narrative which had been printed at Madrid in 1611 or 1612 had been suppressed and was never published.) HUNTER (Capt.
