On his paffage to the island of Jamaica, in February laft, Mr John Barr, eldest fon of Mr John Barr, merchant, Port-Glasgow. March 14. In Egypt, Lieutenant Tomlin Campbell, of the 92d Highland regiment, fecond fon of the Hon. John Campbell, of Jamaica he was mortally wounded by a cannon ball, charging at the head of the grenadiers; he was a promifing young man, beloved by his whole corps.

15. In Egypt, Lieut.-Col. Charles Erskine of the 92d Regiment, eldeft fon to James Erfkine, Efq. of Cardrofs, in confequence of the wounds he received in the battle of the 13th when fighting at the head of that regiment.

March 21. Enfign Lorne Campbell, of the 3d Guards, who fell in the action of the 21st March, near Alexandria; he was the youngest son of Sir James Campbell of Inverneil.

In Egypt, Col. Dutens, in the defperate battle on the 21st March: he was the only fon of the late Peter Dutens, Efq. of Leicester-fquare, and grandfon of the late John Callander, Efq. of Craigforth a young man of the moft engaging and amiable dif pofition, and the only furviving hope of a much refpected family.

At London, Andrew Stuart, Efq. of Caftle Milk and Torrance, Member of Parliament for Weymouth, and Joint Principal Keeper of the Register of Safines in Scotland. This Gentleman diftinguished him/elf highly in the celebrated Douglas cause, as chief Agent for the Duke of Hamilton. In confequence of fome reflections thrown upon the character of Mr Stewart and his conduct in that memorable caufe, a duel took place between him and the prefent Lord Thurlow. After the final decifion of that extraordinary caufe, Mr Stewart addreffed a series of letters to the Earl of Mansfield, whofe arguments and eloquence principally contributed to produce that decifion. The letters are written with great torce, ingenuity, and acumen. Nothing in our language can be compared with them for addrefs, eloquence, and feverity, except the letters of JUNIUS.

At Clifton, lately, aged 24, the Lady of Dr Sinnot; a very large property, in confequence, devolves to the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts, which was bequeathed to her with this refervation, in the event of her dying before fhe attained the 25th year of her age.

At London, of a cancer on his tongue, General Cyrus Trapaud, aged 87, Colonel of his Majefty's 52d regiment of foot, and the oldeft General in his Majesty's fervice.

The Rev. Mr Jephcott, Rector of Kif lingbury, near Northampton: his death was occafioned by his horfe falling with him on his return from a neighbouring village, and he was killed on the spot.

At Colchester, aged 17, Mr B. Blomfield, eldeft fon of Capt. Blomfield. His death was occafioned by a fall from a horse, by which his fkull was fractured; he furvived the fatal accident only four hours.

Lately, at Lower Walton, near Warrington, Samuel Robinfon, aged 87 years. He was father of 9 children, grandfather of 34, great grandfather of 122, and great-great grandfather to 2.
