O3 204

H. G. NAEGELI.

Sympathy and mutual love.

1 BLEST be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like to that above.

2 Before our Father's throne,

We pour our ardent prayers; Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one, Our comforts and our cares.

3 We share our mutual woes, Our mutual burdens bear; And often for each other flows

The sympathizing tear.

4 When we asunder part,

It gives us inward pain; But we shall still be joined in heart, And hope to meet again.

5 This glorious hope revives.

Our courage by the way; While each in expectation lives, And longs to see the day.

6 From sorrow, toil, and pain,

And sin we shall be free; And perfect love and friendship reign Through all eternity.

The Lord watch between us.

1 GOD be with you till we meet again;

By his counsels, guide, uphold you, With his sheep securely fold you, God be with you till we meet again. Till we meet, till we meet at Jesus feet;

Till we meet, till we meet, God be with you till we meet again. 2 God be with you till we meet again, 'Neath his wings securely hide you; Daily manna still divide you, God be with you till we meet again. CHO.-Till we meet, etc.

3 God be with you till we meet again,

Keep love's banner floating o'er you;

Smite death's threatening wave

before you, God be with you till we meet again. CHO.-Till we meet, etc. Rev. J. E. Rankin,

Love for Zion.

1 I LOVE thy kingdom, Lord,
The house of thine abode,
The Church our blest Redeemer saved
With his own precious blood.

2 I love thy Church, O God!

Her walls before thee stand, Dear as the apple of thine eye, And graven on thy hand.

3 For her my tears shall fall,

For her my prayers ascend; To her my cares and toils be given, Till toils and cares shall end.

4 Beyond my highest joy

I prize her heavenly ways,
Her sweet communion, solemn vows,
Her hymns of love and praise.

5 Sure as thy truth shall last,
To Zion shall be given
The brightest glories earth can yield,
And brighter bliss of heaven.

The sure reward.

127
1 IT may not be our lot to wield
The sickle in the ripened field;
Nor ours to hear, on summer eves,
The reaper's song among the sheaves.
2 Yet where our duty's task is
wrought

In unison with God's great thought, The near and future blend in one, And whatsoe'er is willed, is done.

3 And ours the grateful service whence

Comes, day by day, the recompense; The hope, the trust, the purpose

stayed,
