Collect. O GOD the Holy Ghost, Who knowest me to be weak, and in need of Thy strength, ignorant, and in need of Thy wisdom, dark, and in need of Thy light : Come, Thou that art the raiser of the fallen ; come, Thou that art the Star of the tempesttost; come, Thou that art the Teacher of the humble; come, Thou that art the Father of the orphans: and dwelling in Thy temple, which is my body, and purifying Thy shrine, which is my soul, so guard me in the way, that I may finally merit to behold the Beatific Vision in my country: Who livest and reignest with the FATHER, and the Son, One GOD: world without end. Amen.

Psalm xlviii. i Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised : in the city of our God, even upon his holy hill.
2 The hill of Sion is a fair place, and the joy of the whole earth : upon the north-side lieth the city of the great King; God is well known in her palaces as a sure refuge.

The Collect. O GOD the Holy Ghost, Who knowest me to be impure, and in need of Thy purity, listless, and in need of Thy quickening, dead, and in need of Thy life: grant that like as we have heard of Thy dealings with others, when Thou didst endue the Martyrs with courage, and the Confessors with zeal, and the Virgins with chastity, and the eyes of the penitent with rivers of waters : so I may see these Thy loving-kindnesses for myself, and may feel Thee to be a very present help; that hereafter I
may walk about Sion, that Hill of Sion which is the joy of the whole earth : where Thou livest and reignest with the FATHER and the Son, GoD to all ages of ages. Amen.
