This basalt slab is inscribed with a copy of the bilingual Decree promulgated by the whole of the priesthood of Egypt assembled at
Memphis

, in the ninth year of the reign of Ptolemy V Epiphanes (B.C. 196), to celebrate the first commemoration of the coronation of the king, who was not crowned until the eighth year of his reign.
