That the life of Jesus might be manifested in our mortal flesh.—2 COR. iv. 11,

mf 1 HOU hidden Source of calm repose,

THOU

Thou all-sufficient Love Divine ;

My help and refuge from my foes,

Secure I am if Thou art mine;

And lo from sin, and grief, and shame,
I hide me, Jesus, in Thy name.

f 2 Thy mighty name salvation is,
And keeps my happy soul above;
Comfort it brings, and power, and peace,
And joy, and everlasting love;

To me, with Thy dear name, are given
Pardon, and holiness, and heaven.

mp 3 Jesus, my all-in-all Thou art-
My rest in toil, my ease in pain,
The medicine of my broken heart,

In war my peace, in loss my gain;
My smile beneath the tyrant's frown;
In shame, my glory and my crown;

f4 In want, my plentiful supply;

In weakness, my almighty power;
In bonds, my perfect liberty;

My light in Satan's darkest hour;
My help and stay whene'er I call;
My life in death, my heaven, my all.
C. Wesley.

IN

That in the name of Jesus every knee should bow-PHIL. ii. 10.

the name of Jesus

Every knee shall bow,
Every tongue confess Him
King of Glory now.
"Tis the Father's pleasure
We should call Him Lord,
Who from the beginning
Was the mighty Word:-

2 Mighty and mysterious

In the highest height,
God from everlasting,
Very Light of Light.
In the Father's bosom,
With the Spirit blest,
Love, in Love eternal,
Rest, in perfect rest.

f 3 At His voice creation
Sprang at once to sight,
All the angel faces,

All the hosts of light;
Thrones and dominations,
Stars upon their way,
All the heavenly orders
In their great array.

p 4 Humbled for a season,
To receive a name

From the lips of sinners
Unto whom He came,

cr

Faithfully He bore it

Spotless to the last,
Brought it back victorious,
When from death He passed;

f 5 Bore it up triumphant

With its human light,
Through all ranks of creatures,

To the central height;
To the throne of Godhead,
To the Father's breast,

Filled it with the glory
Of that perfect rest.

mf 6 In your hearts enthrone Him; There let Him subdue

All that is not holy,

All that is not true:
Crown Him as your Captain
In temptation's hour,
Let His will enfold you
In its light and power.

f7 Brothers, this Lord Jesus
Shall return again,
With His Father's glory,
With His angel-train;
For all wreaths of empire

Meet upon His brow,

And our hearts confess Him
King of Glory now.
