This he says was the Tetrao rubricollis (red-necked) of Linnæus, and he is probably right, as he must have known the obvious distinction of the species, which is red-legged as well as red-necked. Monro shot another partridge near Jerusalem, and found it to be the Barbary partridge. Burckhardt mentions the red-legged' partridge as a
