2" For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. And as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. And when Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory; who shall change our vile body that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption. It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. It doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

"Behold, I shew you a mystery: we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment in the twinkling of an eye-at the last trump. For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: 'Death is swallowed up in victory.'

"O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be

to God, who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

9"None of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord; whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. And to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

Chapter Sixth.

THE CHRISTIAN LUKEWARM.

The danger of coldness of heart.

1" THE Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him. Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: for he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. Because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold; but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

"Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called 'to-day;' lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in

the faith; prove your own selves.-"Let us fear, lest a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. "For if we suffer, we shall also reign with him: but if we deny him, he also will deny us."

The Saviour's displeasure incurred.

1 "Seeing that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession; and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works; not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together.
