RETOLD RETOLD FROM A SPIRITUAL VIEWPOINT BY HIRAM W. HAYES AUTHOR OF PAUL ANTHONY, CHRISTIAN, THE MAN OF CLAY, FELLOW For Children from Seven to Seventy PUBLISHED BY DAVIS & BOND BOSTON JUN 26 1920 LIBRARY Asher E. Winds TRANSFERRED TO ANDOVER-ARVARD THEOLOGICAL LIBRARY H47067 Copyright 1908 By Hiram W. Hayes A Introductory DESIRE to assist, in every way possible, in the grand work of teaching the children to think right, is the incentive for this volume of Bible stories. As a worker in the Christian Science Sunday School, I have learned that the object of a Sunday School, is to so "teach the scriptures" as to show that the spiritual import of the Bible narrative is paramount to the simple physical facts. The stories in this book have been written with this aim, as well as to interest the children, and to bring out, very briefly, the helpful lessons contained in the lives of the Bible characters. If this volume shall prove of any help whatever to those engaged in the work of teaching the children; or shall bring a single thought of God as Life, Truth and Love to any child, I shall be well repaid.
