conceive me. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; take not thy holy Spirit from me. (51 P. 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 11.) Keep me as the apple of the eye: hide me under the shadow of thy wings. (17 P. 8.) Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth. (31 P. 5.) My mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips, when I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches, because thou hast been my help; therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice. (63 P. 5, 6, 7.) Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing. Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb, for ever and ever. Amen. (5 Rev. 12, 13, 14.)

Morning Prayer.

LORD, teach us to pray. (11 Lk. 1.) Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, according as we hope in thee. (33 P. 22.) It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not; they are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. (3 Lam. 22, 23.) So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. O satisfy us early with thy mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it. (90 P. 12, 13, 17.) God be merciful unto us, and bless us, and cause his face to shine upon us. (67 P. 1.) Lord save us, we perish. (8 Mt. 25.) Shew us thy mercy, O Lord, and grant us thy salvation. (85 P. 7.) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which, according to his abundant mercy, hath begotten us again unto a lively hope, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. (I. Pet. 1. 3.) Surely he hath borne our grief, and carried our sorrows. He was wounded for our transgressions; he was bruised

for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray: we have turned every one to his own way, and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. (53 Is. 4, 5, 6.) Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God, and his Father: to Him be glory and dominion, for ever and ever. Amen. (1 Rev. 5, 6.)

Evening Prayer.

LORD, I cry unto thee, make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice when I cry unto thee: let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense, and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth: keep the door of my lips. (141 P. 1, 2, 3.) O Lord, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens: out of the mouths of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength, (and "perfected praise," 21 Mt. 16.) What is man that thou art mindful of him, and the son of man that thou visitest him? (8 P. 1, 2, 4.) Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. (68 P. 19.) It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High; to show forth thy loving-kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night. (92 P. 1, 2.) I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep; for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety. (4 P. 8.) Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust. Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee. The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance, and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night-seasons. Thou wilt shew me the path of life in thy presence is fulness of joy, at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. (16 P. 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 11.) Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

Who forgiveth all thine iniquities: who healeth all thy diseases. Who redeemeth thy life from destruction: who crowneth thee with loving-kindness and tender mercies. Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things, so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. (103 P. 2, 3, 4, 5.) Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God, for ever and ever. Amen. (7 Rev. 10, 12.)

The Lord's Prayer.

OUR Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (6 Mt. 9 to 13.)
