GENERAL SYNOD

FORTY-SEVENTH CONVENTION

FIRST SESSION

TRINITY EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH,

AKRON, OHIO, MAY 26, 1915.

The General Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in the United States met in its Forty-seventh Convention in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Akron, Ohio, Rev. E. W. Simon, D.D., pastor, on May 26, 1915, at 9.30 A.M. The morning service was conducted by Rev. G. M. Diffenderfer, D.D.

The opening Synodical sermon was preached by Rev. H. L. Yarger, D.D., President of the Synod.

The services of preparation and absolution and of the Holy Communion were conducted by Rev. Frank P. Manhart, D.D., Secretary of the General Synod.

The Lord's Supper was then administered by the President and Secretary, assisted by Rev. E. W. Simon, D.D., pastor loci, and Dr. Diffenderfer. To this communion service the members of the Federation of Lutheran Brotherhoods, which had convened in the church on May 24 and 25, were invited.
