IN bringing these Sermons before the Public, it is but justice to the memory of the Author to state, that they were not written with the remotest view to publication. They are now printed solely in compliance with the wishes of a large circle of friends, who are desirous of possessing in writings of Mr. Richards some record of himself, and whose partial recollection of him at the same time suggests the hope, that Sermons, so useful and impressive when delivered, may be attended with some correspondent benefit on perusal.
