THE following Sermons were delivered by the Author, in the discharge of his duty as Chaplain to the Forces. In regard to the style of their composition, it is, perhaps, needless to remark, that brevity and plainness are generally deemed desirable in such discourses.

They are now published under the encouragement of kind, it may be partial, friends. And, whatever may be their defects in other respects, the Author ventures at least to hope, that the thought and the language will be found alike practical and scriptural.
