of Hamath unto the brook of 9 Egypt. And on the eighth day

they held a 'solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of

the altar seven days, and the 10 feast seven days. And on the

three and twentieth day of the v seventh month he sent the peo

ple away unto their tents, joyful and glad of heart for the goodness that the LORD had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.

king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire,) that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty

cities in the land of Galilee. 12 And Hiram came out from Tyre

to see the cities which Solomon

had given him; and they pleased 13 him not. And he said, What

cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And 'he

called them the land of Cabul, 14 unto this day. And Hiram sent

to the king sixscore talents of

gold. 15 And this is the reason of the

levy which king Solomon raised; for to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem,

and Hazor, and Megiddo, and 16 Gezer. Pharaoh king of Egypt

had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it for a portion

unto his daughter, Solomon's 17 wife. And Solomon built Gezer, 18 and Beth-horon the nether, and

Baalath, and 'Tamar in the wil19 derness, in the land, and all the

store cities that Solomon had, and the cities for his chariots, and the cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jeru

of bondservants, unto this day. 22 But of the children of Israel did

Solomon make no bondservants: but they were the men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of

his chariots and of his horsemen. 23 These were the chief officers that

were over Solomon's work, five hundred and fifty, which bare

rule over the people that wrought 24 in the work. But Pharaoh's

daughter came up out of the city of David unto her house which Solomon had built for her: then did he build Millo.

Solomon make no servants for his work; but they were men of war, and chief of his captains, and

two hundred and fifty, that bare rule over the people. 11 And Solomon brought up the

daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David unto the house that he had built for her: for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because 'the places are holy, whereunto the ark of the LORD hath come.

Then Solomon offered burnt offerings unto the LORD on the

altar of the LORD, which he had 13 built before the porch, even as

the duty of every day required, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the set feasts, three times in the year, even in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the

feast of weeks, and in the feast 14 of tabernacles. And he appoint

so had David the man of God 15 commanded. And they departed

not from the commandment of the king unto the priests and Levites concerning any matter,

all the work of Solomon was prepared unto the day of the foundation of the house of the LORD, and until it was finished. So the house of the LORD was perfected.

26 And king Solomon made a

navy of ships in Ezion-geber, which is beside Eloth, on the

shore of the Red Sea, in the land 27 of Edom.

And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea,

with the servants of Solomon. 28 And they came to Ophir, and

fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.

Then went Solomon to Eziongeber, and to Eloth, on the sea 18 shore in the land of Edom. And

Huram sent him by the hands of his servants ships, and servants that had knowledge of the sea; and they came with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and fetched from thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to king Solomon.

she came to prove him with hard 2 questions.

And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones : and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with
