My guilt condignly punish'd fee, than our heart, and knoweth all things. Gal. ii. 16, Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ; that we might be justified by the faith of Chrift, and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Chap. iii. 11, But that no man is justified by the law in the fight of God, it is evident; for, the just shall live by faith. By the righteousness of one, the free gift came upon all men to justification of life. By the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. v Rom. x. 5-9, For Mofes defcribeth the righteousness which, is of the law, That the man which doth these things, things, shall live by them. But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this. wife, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above;) or who shall defcend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Chrift again from the dead;) but what faith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart; that is, the word of faith which we preach, That if thou shalt confefs with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart, that God hath raised him from the dead, thou. shalt be faved. w Rom. iii. 31, Do we then make void the law through faith?
