WE doubt not it would be acceptable to the reader, to receive some information concerning the Author of these ensuing excellent treatises; but as very

little is met with to assist us in this respect, we must be contented with saying, that though the transactions of his life are in a great measure unknown to us, his writings are a monument to his praise, which shew the good understanding he had received in the weighty concerns of life and salvation.
