1 WE praise thee, O God; we acknowledge thee to be the Lord. All the earth doth worship thee, the | Father everlasting.
8 (When thou tookest upon thee to deliver man, Thou didst humble thyself to be | born of a virgin.
9 When thou hadst overcome the | sharpness of death, heaven to all believers.
2 To thee all angels cry aloud; the heavens and all the | powers therein.
Heaven and earth are full of the majesty of thy glory 4 The glorious company of the apostles | praise - thee! The goodly fellowship of the prophets praise - thee!
5 The noble army of martyrs | praise - thee!
The holy church throughout all the world, | doth acknowledge thee,
6 The Father, of an | infinite majesty:
Thine adorable, true, and only Son: also the Holy Ghost, the Comforter.
Thou didst open the kingdom of
12 O LORD, save thy people, and | bless thine heritage; Govern them and lift them up forever.
13 Day by day we | magnify thee;
And we worship thy name | ever world without end.
Make them to be numbered with thy saints in | glory everlasting.
14 Vouchsafe, O Lord, to keep us this day | without sin.
O Lord, in thee have I trusted; let me | never be confounded.
10 Thou sittest at the right hand of God in the glory of the Father. We believe that thou shalt | come to be our Judge.

Though the darkness hide thee, Though the eye of sinful man thy | glory may not see;
5 Only thou art holy, there is | none beside thee, Perfect in power, in | love, and purity.

All thy works shall praise thy name, in | earth and sky and sea.

(THOU Maker of my vital frame, unveil thy face, pro- nounce thy name;
Shine to my sight, and let the ear which thou hast | formed, thy language hear: Divide, ye clouds, and let me see the Power that | gives me leave to be.
2 (Where is thy residence? Oh, why dost thou avoid my | searching eye? Mysterious Being! Great Unknown! say, do the clouds conceal thy throne? | Or art thou all diffused abroad, through boundless | space, a present God?
3 (Is there not some delightful art, to feel thy presence | in my heart? To hear thy whispers, soft and kind, in holy | silence of the mind! Then rest, my thoughts; no longer roam in quest of | joy, for heaven's at home!
3 Lord, in thy sight, who every bosom viewest,
5 Who can resist thy gentle call, appealing
6 Kind Benefactor! plant within this bosom
7 Then place them in those everlasting gardens,

1 LEAD, kindly Light, amid th' encircling gloom, lead | thou me on!
The distant scene; one | step's enough for me.
2 I was not ever thus, nor prayed that thou shouldst | lead me on;
Pride ruled my will: re- | member not past years!
