Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty.-Rev. iv. 8. n

TOLY, Holy, Holy Lord

mf 2 Holy, Holy, Holy ! Thee,
God of Hosts, when heaven and earth

One Jehovah evermore,
Out of darkness at Thy word,

Father, Son, and Spirit, we,
Issued into glorious birth,

Dust and ashes, would adore :
All Thy works before Thee stood,

Lightly by the world esteemed, And Tbine eye beheld them good;

From that world by Thee redeemed, While they sang with sweet accord,

Sing we here with glad accord, Holy, Holy, Holy Lord !

Holy, Holy, Holy Lord !
s 3 Holy, Holy, Holy ! all

Heaven's triumphant choirs shall sing,
When the ransomed nations fall

At the footstool of their King :
Then shall saints and seraphim,
Harps and voices, swell one hymn,

Blending in sublime accord,
Holy, Holy, Holy Lord !

James Montgomery.

Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts.-ISA. vi. 3.
TOLY, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty !

Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee ;
Holy, Holy, Holy, Merciful and Mighty,

God in Three Persons, Blesséd Trinity !
2 Holy, Holy, Holy ! all the saints adore Thee,

Casting down their golden crowns around glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,

Who wast, and art, and evermore shalt be.
p 3 Holy, Holy, Holy ! though the darkness hide Thee,

Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see,
Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee,

Perfect in power, in love, and purity.
jf 4 Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty !

All Thy works shall praise Thy name, in earth, and sky, and sea :
Holy, Holy, Holy, Merciful and Mighty,
God in l'hree Persons, Blesséd Trinity !

Reginald Heber.

26 The name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.—Matt. xxviii. 19.

^ O

Doth o'er the world in mercy shine,
Accept our praise, for we are Thine.
2 O Father, uncreated Lord,

Be Thou in every land adored ;

On every soul Thy love be poured. p 3 O Son of God, for sinners slain,

We bless Thee, Lord, whose dying pain

For us did endless life regain.
mf 4 O Holy Ghost, whose guardian care

Doth us for heavenly joys prepare,
May we in Thy communion share.
5 Father, protect us here below;

Jesus, Thy mercy may we know;
O Holy Ghost, Thy power bestow,
6 O Holy, Blesséd Trinity,

With faith we sinners bow to Thee;
In us, o God, exalted be!

A. T. Russell.

God is light.-1 JOHN i. 5. mf 1

THREE in One, and One in Three, | p 3 Light of lights, when falls the even,
Ruler of the earth and sea,

Let it close on sin forgiven ;
Hear us, while we lift to Thee

Fold us in the peace of heaven,
Holy chant and psalm.

Shed a holy calm.
f 2 Light of lights, with morning shine, mf 4 Three in One, and One in Three,
Lift on us Thy light Divine ;

Dimly here we worship Thee ;
And let charity benign

With the saints hereafter we
Breathe on us her balm.

Hope to bear the palmı.

God sitteth upon the throne of His holiness.-Ps. xlvii. 8.
NATHER of Heaven, whose love profound 3 Eternal Spirit, by whose breath

A ransom for our souls hath found, The soul is raised from sin and death, Before Thy throne we sinners bend :

Before Thy throne we sinners bend : To us Thy pardoning love extend.

To us Thy quickening power extend. 2 Almighty Son, Incarnate Word,

4 Thrice Holy ! Father, Spirit, Son ! Our Prophet, Priest, Redeemer, Lord !

Mysterious Godhead! Three in One! Before Thy throne we sinners bend :

Before Thy Throne we sinners bend : To us Thy saving grace extend.

Grace, pardon, life to us extend.

IMMORTAL, invisible,

(1) HIS ATTRIBUTES AND GLORY. 29 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God.—1 Tim. i. 17. mf 1

inf 4 To-day and to-morrow

With Thee still are Now;
In light inaccessible

Nor trouble, nor sorrow,
Hid from our eyes,

Nor care, Lord, hast Thou;
Most blessèd, most glorious,

Nor passion doth fever,
The Ancient of Days,

Nor age can decay,
Almighty, victorious,

The same God for ever
Thy great name we praise.

That was yesterday. mf 2 Unresting, unhasting,

5 Great Father of Glory,
And silent as light,

Pure Father of Light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting,

Thine angels adore Thee,
Thou rulest in might;

All veiling their sight;
Thy justice like mountains

But of all Thy rich graces
High soaring above

This grace, Lord, impart-
Thy clouds which are fountains

Take the veil from our faces,
Of goodness and love.

The veil from our heart.
3 To all, life Thou givest,

s 6 All laud we would render ;
To both great and small;

O help us to see,
In all life Thou livest,

'Tis only the splendour
The true life of all;

Of light hideth Thee;
We blossom and flourish

And so let Thy glory,
As leaves on the tree,

Almighty, impart dim And wither and perish :

Through Christ in the story, f But nought changeth Thee.

Thy Christ to the heart.

W. C. Smith.
